This is the second study consists of identifying the thermal anomalies present in the drive gearboxes located at the head end of conveyor.  There were 90 days between Infrared (IR) Surveys and therefore ambient temperature were taken into account and input into the equipment.

The North gearbox has shown a decrease in temperature from the previous I R survey performed on 8/27.  Location points one thru four, which is the drive end has shown the most significant decrease.  Positions five thru thirteen on the same gearbox have decreased a very little as compared to one thru four.

This above data confirms that the North gearbox as compared to the South gearbox has shown a significant decrease and therefore what ever mechanical configurations were implemented has improved the operations of unit.  The temperature on the South gearbox decreased a minimal amount and was consistent throughout all data collection points.  On the North gearbox data collection points closest to the drive motor showed the most decrease.  The conveyors were not loaded with product on the 11/27 date and this could account for the slight temperature decrease.   When the conveyors were loaded for a brief period of time I saw a three to five temperature spike in temperature.  The conveyors were loaded on for about fifteen minutes and this didn’t allow enough time to collect all points.  This also confirms the equipment compensated for the ambient temperature between the two dates.
