PCI, LLC is owned and managed by Charles D. Reid. PCI, LLC has been in business since 2005. Prior to launching PCI, LLC, Charles worked as a Contracts Manager and Electrical Engineer for Fluor Contractors for 23 years before his retirement. Do you know the results of excessive heat on your Electric Motor?
Electric motors give warnings of impeding failure that can be identified by using several Predictive Maintenance (PM) Procedures.
This may include insulation resistance testing, High Potential (Hi-Pot) testing among others. These tests require the motor
be taken out of service, which interrupts production.
FACT-Heat is the most common cause of motor failure before reaching rated service life. Every increase of 10 degrees Centigrade of heat
of motor winding above its design operating temperature cuts the life of motor winding insulation by 50%.
By adding our Infrared service to your existing PM program we can detect as little as .1 degree temperature rise. Our program does not
require that the motor to be taken out of service, in fact the best results are obtained while the equipment is operating (in service). Due
to energy cost today it easy to see the benefit of a I R program. Not only does excessive heat shorten the life expediency of the motor,
it’s costing more to operate.
Our Infrared Program (IR) consists of recording manufacturer information on each Motor, Transformers, Panels and Disconnects. An Infrared
image along with a Visual Image is entered into our data base. This information is forwarded to client along with a detailed report
outlining the results.
